Well this win was a little more like the 2016 Blue Jays we know and love (and that may not necessarily be a good thing).
Stro pitched another gem and again has nothing to show for it, other than a reduced ERA I guess. He pitched 7 shutout innings giving up only 1 hit, ONE! He walked 3 and struck out 5 to get his no decision.
Grilli and Osuna would pitch their respective innings, each giving up a hit but allowing no runs to score.
The game was scoreless until the eighth when with both Donaldson and Encarnacion on and two outs Jose Bautista hit a 3 run HR, blessed by the bat-flipping-gods. I cheered, you cheered, we all cheered and probably sang José song.
It’s a damn shame that Stro couldn’t get the win for this game, cause man was he great. Jays starters has not allowed a Yankees run now for 2 straight games. In fact it’s been 3 straight games for the Yank where they haven’t scored a run. Let’s hope this continues.
I unfortunately will not be watching the game live tomorrow which is doubly sad because Estrada is on the mound. But I will post GIFs as per usual.
