What the hell was that game?
Liriano, who had been rolling during Spring Training, made his debut and I think it’s safe to assume that it did not go as well as he wanted it to. He just seemed lost out there and after facing eight pitchers and only getting one out while giving up 3 hits and 4 walks he was yanked out of the game. His final line would see him give up 5 runs and a lovely 135.00 ERA, yeah I got my decimal right.
Leone and Tepera would pitch a total of 4.2 innings and would give up a run each. They did however kept the game reachable for the bats.
Tulo helped the Jays claw their way back with his first hit, a double, and a solo HR.
The Jays would tie up the game and take the lead in the T6 only to see it disappear in the bottom of the inning after Howell blew the save by giving up 2 runs and getting no outs. Smith and Loup would follow but even after Donaldson’s first HR of the season, the Jays could not fight their way back.
Tomorrow we get’s Sanchez debut and let’s hope that it’s a little better pitched.
