Things to Know:
- I missed this game, and what a game to miss. We all knew something was gonna happen after the multiple HBPs, with one putting the Freddie Freeman on the DL with a fractured hand, a Bautista flip, and Pillar’s unacceptable homophobic slur. The Braves didn’t wast anytime as Julio Teheran attempted and failed to hit Bautista on the first pitch he threw to him. He did eventually succeed in the second pitch. Intentionally hitting batter is stupid (regardless of what team team is doing it) and I’m kinda glad that Jays made the Braves look silly.
- The bats were hot yesterday and scored a total of 9 runs, including the Bautista HBP. Morales had an exceptional day with a 4-for-5 night while driving in 2. Clean up hitter Ceciliani, Maile, and….. STRO all hit home runs to help the cause. That’s right, Stro! His oppo shot was beautiful and unexpected and I’m kinda super excited that he gets to hit again at Milwaukee.
- Stro also had a pretty great day on the mound. He went 5.2 scoreless innings while striking out 5. He did have runners on base all game long but wiggled out of it. Tepera, Smith, and Grilli all helped with cause with each of them not giving up a single hit.
- This was a fun game and hopefully the momentum can be carried onto Baltimore and maybe we can some reinforcement soon.
Braves getting their revenge nice and early.
That’s how that works right?
Luke Maile’s first home run as a Blue Bird.
Maile has already cemented his place in my heart but his reaction to his own home run is too cute!
Stro’s first career home run.
